[Apple silicon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_silicon) Macs are considered the minimum recommendation but as a general rule, newer chips are always more secure. This guide targets power users who wish to adopt enterprise-standard security, but is also suitable for novice users with an interest in improving privacy and security. For securing computers in an organization, use the [official NIST guidelines for macOS](https://github.com/usnistgov/macos_security). A system's security ultimately depends on its administrator's capabilities. No single technology, piece of software, or technique can guarantee perfect security.
